Having had many operations in various hospitals I have to say this hospital was outstanding and a joy. The staff made it for me. Let me start with Gladys who is a volunteer guide she was so pleasant , professional and caring she saw I was anxious on my first visit and gave me a hug which helped so much. Then there's Julie Marlor in the day surgical unit who was lovely yet professional , caring and thorough. Next was Mr Simon Roache who operated on me what a great man ,it is evident throughout the hospital how much this man is revered, every member of staff I spoke to say what a wonderful man he is and I agree and he's a most excellent surgeon . The man who looked after me in recovery unfortunately I don't remember his name but again excellent and the nurse who carried on from there was fantastic too. On my Next visit to the hospital to see staff nurse Mags Judge who took my stitches out without any pain at all such a gentle person , next was at the Plaster unit to have my cast replaced by Kim Irving. On my journey to see her I got myself rather worked up and she realised and got me some water and put me at ease. She is so gentle and caring a true professional and a wonderful Lady where nothing is too much trouble . I Have seen Kim Twice I went back and for another cast on because the first started to hurt a little, I rang her and got an appointment the very next day ,she was her usual lovely mannered and pleasant self .Then I would like to thank Lindsay Pedgrift for rearranging my next appointment for an earlier date. Last but not least I would like to thank Joshua Knight who works in the Aroma coffee bar what a caring lovely young man he is , he saw my cast an insisted on me sitting down and bringing me my food and drink to me he is also a smiley polite young man. He was equally has good on my next visit he remembered me and and asked how I was, hes a caring. Young man. All the staff seem to get along very well with each other which makes for a lovely experience for the patients. If I have missed anybody out I apologise . So Once again a Huge Thank you to you all you are Amazing . By the way forgot to say what a very clean place the hospital is.

Friendly and caring staff

Very nice friendly staff. The only downfall I found is the procedure I had done meant I was unable to drive. Having travelled some distance to get here was told that my friend (driver) couldn't wait with me

I have been to this hospital twice once for my son to check his eyes. I had an issue with getting there as the person who was taking me let me down last minute and the doctor waited an extra hour for me to get there. Even tho he should of been gone half hour before. He waited and checked my sons eyes bless him. Thats dedication at its finest. Day case surgery on the other hand I didnt particularly like it. The staff were brilliant dont get me wrong but after waking up they pretty much kick you out as soon as someones there to take you home ( they try and get you out within the an hour after waking up). When your feeling rubbish from anaesthetic and feeling dizzy etc it really makes you feel worse. But they warn you before hand it still does t prepare you for it though. Staff are fantastic tho really friendly, quick and efficient. And if there is a problem they do keep you in for a bit longer they wanted me to stay in for a couple of hours more due to some concerns so In some instances they arent kicking you out so fast, but even with the extra stay it was pretty brutal being kicked out when i was so disoriented with me being sleepy, sick and dizzy.

Started going to the eye department in February, first time was for a cataract removal...brilliant. then 4 weeks after having a check up they found I had a bleed behind my eye....now its being sorted out. The staff are great and treat you with respect and answer any questions you have
