Went in for Traditional Christmas lunchtime drink, downhill after that. Christmas lunchtime drink means no children or women in the pub. Women should be home making Christmas dinner whilst children play at home with new toys,So the men can enjoy themselves, have a beer and talk Rubbish.
Food was fairly good, nice atmosphere, menu is pretty small though and a little pricey (almost 20 for a rump steak!?) I would go again definitely
I am visiting family and friends in Rochdale as I just came over from Canada. One of my good friends Shelley suggested we meet in the Oxford and asked them to put on a vegan dish for us.We were all absolutely delighted with the food and the variety we had. It was delicious!!! Two of my friends are not vegan but decided to try it, they were blown away!!! This pub has a lovey atmosphere and I highly recommend it. I will be coming here again the next time we fly in!!!! Thank you.
The steak and kidney pudding was delicious. The suet keeps the juicy steak piping hot, and there was certainly a lot of it. The Sunday Roast was equally as delicious. We went on s Sunday. The place restaurant is busy so booking is highly advised. There are also a great selection of wines, gins and beers available. Really great service too!!
