Had some decorating done just before Christmas by two guys from this Company. John Lewis and Steve ?. ..and although it wasn't all bad, It was a really stressful experience. They missed painting several areas - especially around internal door frames where the hinges are. After less than two weeks, the white paint started to chip off the woodwork revealing the green original paint underneath. When I called them back to look at it, they said it was because I had chosen a 'water based paint' and that "all paint chips off eventually" (after 2 weeks??!) I'm no decorator but I suspect it was lack of preparation of the surface prior to painting. Other issues I had included a total lack of respect for my property - not covering my carpets (had to keep asking them to do so), cutting the paper too short and filling with 'caulk'. Getting paint on fixtures and fittings and not removing it (smoke alarm, plug/light sockets, door handles...shower screen, flooring etc, and just general unprofessionalism ('practising his handwriting' in the steam on the windows from the steam stripper and not cleaning if off) Applying 'filler' ON TOP of wallpaper. Sticking torn paper down hoping I wouldn't notice. They refused to put any of the issues right and said I was a 'bad customer' for expecting it. I personally wouldn't recommend either of them, but I must add, this is NOT a representation of this company, but an honest review, based on my experience with these particular decorators.
